Main Goal: The aim of the project is to contribute an innovative and viable off-grid community electrification solution which has real potential to increase rural Malawians’ socio-economic opportunities and to be incorporated into a national strategy for the electrification of rural Malawi based on renewable energy technologies. The project will install solar powered energy kiosks in rural Malawi, allowing communities to charge electronic devices therefore reducing their dependency on increasingly expensive paraffin and improving their access to efficient lighting, communication, and information.
